The first time I came across the name Cay Van Ash was as the author of a novel entitled Ten Years Beyond Baker Street. The book was published in 1984 and, as the title implies, it was a fanciful addition to the Sherlock Holmes canon. It dealt with an imaginary encounter between Arthur Conan Doyle's super-sleuth Holmes and Doctor Fu Manchu,
